2019 New Britain Judicial District LAW DAY

The Greater New Britain Bar Association sponsored the Law Day Celebration on May 8, 2019.
Judges from the New Britain JD, GNBBA Members, lawyers, court staff, award recipients and guests attended the ceremony to celebrate the Rule of Law and this year's theme - FREE SPEECH, FREE PRESS, FREE SOCIETY. After Administrative Judge Joan Alexander opened Court and welcomed the attendees, guest speaker Judge Daniel Klau gave a fascinating history of the treatment of the 1st Amendment in America. GNBBA President Peter Soulsby, Past President Richard Pentore and 1st Vice President William Forbes all gave wonderfully interesting backgrounds on our guest speaker & on each award recipient. Liberty Bell Award - Claudia R. Barbieri Public Service Award - Joanne Lewis President's Award - John A. Barbieri Attendees then existed for refreshments in the court library. |
